Beatrice lives, works and train in Auckland. She is currently involved with Fonterra and Sanitarium KickStart Breakfast Programme. The KickStart Breakfast Programme encourages children at school rated decile 1-4 to get a healthy start to their day by eating a nutritious breakfast.

Fonterra and Sanitarium provide Anchor Mega Milk and Weetbix to schools to run KickStart Breakfast clubs up to twice a week during term time. With over 300 schools across New Zealand already in the programme there are over 11,000 students eating over 20,000 breakfasts each week.

"We know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and is often missed due to busy families and commitments. Research shows that 10% percent of children are attending schools without breakfast which is having impact on the learning ability, so we are wanting to help these children and families.

My role as ambassador for KickStart Breakfast is to help educate these children on the importance of breakfast. I will be touring New Zealand throughout the year and will have at he opportunity to have breakfast with the KickStart Breakfast clubs. It will also be a great opportunity to talk about leadership and encourage the children to fulfil their dreams

Beatrice juggles these commitments with her training for the Discus Throw and studying towards a Bachelor of Business in Marketing.

In 2006, Beatrice was the runner up on TVNZ's Dancing with the Stars.  Through her enjoyment of dancing, this has remained as part of her program, which is just as well as she receives many requests for Dance demonstrations!

"Improved recovery means improved performance!  The ability to meet the training targets to improve your competitive edge is very important to me."

Approach to training and nutrition?
Training and nutrition work together.  Without one of these factors the other will suffer.  So for me, maintaining a balance is the key.  There is the prior to training, during and post (recovery).
